Here Are Some Amazing Things That Happened At BAFEST 2019

Written by on December 18, 2019

The just concluded Born In Africa Festival; BAFEST 2019 did nothing but celebrate pure African talents with unique creativity. From Music, Art, Film, and Fashion, the audience explored the depths of these touch points in the most remarkable ways possible.

While exploring the Fashion corner at BAFEST we saw the most iconic designs ever by Iconic Invanity. The dress had beautiful Ankara prints in the most simple but elegant designs. The jaw-dropper was the leafy accessory that was stylishly placed on the side of the dress.

Another exciting thing we experienced was the beautiful mix of fashion and music on the BAFEST stage. We enjoyed the unexpected collaborations of some of the biggest African designs and musicians on stage. Odio Mimonet’s collection was on display while Niniola was performing and Seyi Shay’s performance saw Tokyo James’ inspiring collection simultaneously. On the other hand, Ghanian musician, Becca collaborated with Weizdhurm Franklyn.

As far as entertaining displays were concerned, we thought the fireworks, confetti, fire bursts, and strings were the best things we had ever witnessed until we saw the drummers in the sky. The 12 drummers were hanging in the sky in the form of a pyramid, dressed in black, blending in the night sky with red glow in the dark drumsticks and white drums.  We had our eyes up and jaws dropped as we felt the vibrations of their exquisite beat under our feet.

We were expecting a performance from Teni alright, but what we were not expecting was to be the first set of people to see Darey and Teni perform their soon to be released single, ‘Far Away’ for the first time ever!

Adding to the long list of unexpected things that happened at BAFEST was Ycee’s surprise appearance with Becca. They both performed the newly released single ‘Magic’.

BAFEST since its inception in 2018 has become a platform to celebrate and showcase Africa’s exceptional talent and creatives to the World.
