ANKARA FOREVER: Check Out HRM’s New Sneaker Collection

The Rainy Season Collection, is a limited edition capsule collection of hand-customized sneakers by HRM; a Lagos-based sneaker brand that has grown an underground cult following for customizing one-off, made-to-order sneakers with a distinctly Nigerian twist.
Each pair of shoes, created using original Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars, is a one-of-a-kind exclusive.
ANKARA FOREVER: The Rainy Season Collection is a creation of homeland nostalgia and popular culture. Featuring 56 pairs of shoes, the collection incorporates the familiar Ankara patterns of anyone who grew up in Lagos. From the Sunrise to the Jumping Horse to the Cherry Blossom, these colorful wax fabrics have been in existence — sold and resold — in Nigeria since the late 1960s. HRM reimagines these iconic patterns featuring eight unisex designs.
HRM was created in 2010 by Lagos-based designer and broadcast journalist Hauwa Mukan. HRM has since partnered with FAGUO, the French shoe company, to create a limited edition collection that retailed at the famed Galleries Lafayette in Paris.
