MTN Foundation’s Anti-Substance Abuse Programme (ASAP) was in Kano for the final stop of its pilot phase, after touring Taraba and Adamawa states. It was an opportunity to experience another feel of northern Nigeria, but this time – fighting substance abuse.
At the University of Science and Technology, Kano, the students performed a stage play, titled “Stay away from substance abuse, it could kill you!”
The students and members of MTN Foundation also went on the ASAP Walk from the Kano State Secretariat.
MTN Foundation’s ASAP initiative is on a mission to eradicate substance abuse amongst the 10 to 25-year age demographic. The Foundation has partnered with professionals from various disciplines, to tackle the menace of substance abuse. Collaborations like these, have helped establish impactful activities like the ASAP Awareness Walk; the State Round Table; and school, bus park and market activations, all designed to drive strong engagements.
