The members of the House of Representatives have collectively recommended the Chairman of Air Peace, Mr. Allen Onyema for national honours in appreciation of his selfless service of evacuating troubled Nigerians from South Africa in the wake of xenophobic attacks on them by their hosts.
Onyema, who appeared before the House of Representatives in recognition of the free services offered by his airline to get Nigerians under xenophobic attacks in South Africa out of that country, received a standing ovation and commendations from the federal lawmakers.
Air Peace has so far airlifted no fewer than 502 Nigerians out of South Africa since the killings of Nigerians started in South Africa.
The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Army, Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas, who moved the motion for national honours for the Nigerian aviation industry mogul, said honouring Onyema would serve as a morale booster for other Nigerians to work in the interest of the country.
