Police to Resume Enforcement of Tinted Glass Permits from January 2

Motorists across the country are advised to ensure their vehicle documentation is up to date, as the Nigeria Police Force prepares to clamp down on unauthorized tinted glasses.
The Force announced that strict enforcement of tinted glass permits will resume on January 2, 2026.
According to police authorities, the moratorium on enforcement is being lifted to address rising security challenges. The police cited the increasing use of vehicles with unauthorized tints to conceal criminal activities as a primary driver for the renewed crackdown. Drivers are urged to verify their permits to avoid penalties in the new year.
